Please reach us at info@charmrescue.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.
No. Neither the Animal Welfare Society of Howard County nor Charm Rescue is affiliated with the Howard County Animal Care and Control Center. We are simply neighbors.
No. Our rescue is 100% foster supported at this time while we rebuild our shelter structures. There are no animals or staff on the premises aside from those working on the renovations.
We’re so sorry that you’re facing the need to rehome your pet. We know this is never an easy decision, and it often comes with a lot of love and heartbreak.
We do have an owner surrender process.
As a 100% foster-based organization, the safety of our fosters and their pets is very important to us. Because of this, we require that pets being surrendered are up to date on rabies vaccinations, have complete medical records, and undergo a temperament assessment, which we will schedule prior to placement in a foster home.
Our ability to take in new animals depends on foster availability, so the timeline can vary and may range from a few days to several months.
If you would like to begin the process, please complete an application here for dogs here & for cats here.
Not at this time but we are working diligently to launch both programs this year!
